Banshee error log.

When opening Banshee the system reports a fatal error and closes the program. The exact message is:
Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.

An unhandled exception was thrown: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

I have attached the log.

In the log, I see this: Sqlite error 11: database disk image is malformed.

This means that something probably happened (maybe a system crash or sudden loss of power) that caused Banshee's database to become corrupted.  Luckily, this can usually be recovered from by following the directions at the very end of the FAQ: http://banshee.fm/support/faq/

Really, Banshee should try to recover from this type of error automatically, so I'm marking this as a duplicate of Bug 621057.
