Description Simon P. 2011-08-12 12:20:42 UTC
Multiple-Select in File Open Dialog with [CTRL] and [SHIFT] not working as expected.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Go to File Open Dialog in any application.
2. Select a group of files.
3. Add another file to selection by [CTRL]-Click.
4. Extend the selection of (3) by [CTRL][SHIFT]-Click.

Actual Result:

(4) adds a single file to selection as if only [CTRL] was pressed, [SHIFT] is ignored.

Expected result:

(4) extends the selection to two groups of files in the same way file selection works in most other places. Try Nautilus main window for comparison.

We're moving to gitlab! As part of this move, we are moving bugs to NEEDINFO if they haven't seen activity in more than a year. If this issue is still important to you and still relevant with GTK+ 3.22 or master, please reopen it and we will migrate it to gitlab.

As announced a while ago, we are migrating to gitlab, and bugs that haven't seen activity in the last year or so will be not be migrated, but closed out in bugzilla.

If this bug is still relevant to you, you can open a new issue describing the symptoms and how to reproduce it with gtk 3.22.x or master in gitlab:
