Description Tiffany Antopolski 2011-08-11 11:55:11 UTC
In Region and Language, the Language tab is missing the Esperanto language from the list. It is present in the Layouts tab though. I would like to install this language in my Fedora15 system in order to do translations.

Bit of a chicken-and-egg problem, we only show languages for which there are translations (and a font to display it).

It needs to be listed in /usr/lib/locale/locale-archive (eg. supported by glibc) as well.

See panels/common/gdm-languages.c for details.

(It looks like the glibc in Fedora doesn't support Esperanto, best is to contact the gnome-i18n list and ask for help, a few were involved in adding new languages there).

There actually are translations, but I have since learned that glibc does not and will not support Esperanto.
