gvfsd-ftp backtrace

I have a problem mounting ftp locations, i.e.
gvfs-mount ftp://ftp.gnome.org
hangs for 10 minutes and then dies with timeout error message.

Backtrace of gvfsd-ftp shows, that it hangs on connect operation. At the same time, opening location from ftp client works fine, so the network is operational.

There is another "hint". When doing strace of gvfsd with strace -f -p `pidof gvfsd` in another terminal, gvfs-mount does not hang and the location gets mounted correctly.

I'm not alone with this problem (https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375101)

These are the version numbers:
gvfs: 1.7.3
glib: 2.28.8
gconf: 2.32.4
orbit: 2.14.19
libproxy: 0.4.6

This looks like a deadlock in GSettings' GConf backend. Please note this backend should only be used for transitioning from old configuration. Please emerge dconf and set it as default backend (that should be automatic, I guess there's a bidding process). This can be also overriden by the GSETTINGS_BACKEND env var.

Please test and let me know the result.

That helped, thanks.

OK, closing this as WONTFIX. Would be great to mention this in Gnome Upgrade Guide or similar document for Gentoo users. This applies for Gnome 2.32 as well, some applications were already ported those days.
