GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 655629
"Path:" label for spool file definition should be "File:" label
Last modified: 2013-09-13 01:04:47 UTC
On the "Receiving Email" page for a Standard Unix mbox spool file (accessible via <guiseq><gui>Edit</gui><gui>Preferences</gui><gui>Mail Accounts</gui><gui style="button">Edit</gui><gui>Receiving Email</gui></guiseq>) the label for the file chooser is called "_Path:". To me it's confusing as this refers to the directories only on the "way" from / to the actual file. Proposing to change to "_File:" (but only for spool file, not for spool directory).
Probably same for "Local delivery"...
It's path to a file :)
To me, a path to file does not include also the filename, but only the folder in which the file is located. But in this dialog you choose the file itself. So it's not /path/to/foo/ but /path/to/foo/file-named-foo . As I explained in comment 0 to me it's confusing, to others it might be correct. Maybe a third opinion is good. :)
Label it "Spool File:".
Created attachment 194716 [details] [review] evo patch for evolution; simple four-liner. Note the 'F' is taken by a Forward button.
(In reply to comment #4) > Label it "Spool File:". it's shared between providers, do not write spool into it, no no.
That's unfortunate.
Created commit ede1d06 in evo master (3.1.90+)
Thanks! Verified.
And fixed in the user docs: http://git.gnome.org/browse/evolution/commit/?id=e408bda1ef4c7f54642d41274b888481da3be2cd
