Transaction report configuration window hidden by the display, even if I hide my bottom panel.

I have a Samsung R440 notebook (tech specs => http://goo.gl/BameG ), which has a 14" Led display. The maximum display resolution of my device is 1366x768 pixels.

With this notebook, I'm unable to generate a transaction report, because a piece of the configuration window is hidden by the display. The low display height hides window components. Please, see the screenshots I've attached here.

Please, could GnuCash developers redesign that window in order to reduce height usage and take free space in the sides? I believe this should be done because the market sells more 16:9 monitors than 4:3 ones.

Thanks.

Thank you for your report. You touch a valid point here regarding window sizes. This will be an issue that will pop up more and more now that there is such a vast variety of screen sizes in different orientations on the market (desktops, laptops, netbooks, tablets, smart phones,...)

It will take time to get this sorted out properly.

But in the meantime this workaround may help you out:
In kde (and perhaps other desktop environments as well), you can drag around any window without requiring the menu bar:
- hold the alt key
- click and drag anywere in the window you want to move around

Using this technique, you can move the window up to reach the buttons that are now hidden.

Thanks. Your workaround helped a lot!

Same Problem, same resolution.
ASUS U36JC 1366x768

Many Windows are to big for the Display. Example Evolution Email configuration (screenshot in attachment).

The Alt+Mouse works, but i think many people dont know this.

Maybe a new feature which small down the window if it doesnt fit on the desktop or something will be good in future versions of gnome.

Transaction report options dialog under resolution 1366x768

This screenshot is taken from my laptop under resolution 1366x768. Gnucash version is 2.6.3. Dialog shows normally. The problem reported seems not happening now.

You're right. This bug report is quite old; the problem doesn't happen anymore in my laptop computer.

Reassign version to 2.4.x so that individual 2.4 versions can be retired.
