Description Alex 2011-07-21 06:43:27 UTC
I have a problem running ekiga on sony vaio pcg-71311v notebook.
When Ekiga starts I see error:
"There was an error opening or initializing the video output. Please verify
that no other application is using the accelerated video output."
I've found, that it's due to hardware acceleration, DirectX or drivers.

OS Windows 7 professional6.1.7600 x64
DirectX 11.0 (last), In dxdiag all sets (DirectDraw Direct3D, texture
AGP) turn on, but button turn on miss.
Videocard: Intel(R) HD Graphics (Core i3)
Video driver: v8.15.10.2312 от 22.02.2011 (last)

Ekiga's log file (ekiga-stderr):

DXWindow Destructor called

I've tried to play whith several relevant Windows settings. No success yet.

How can I get Ekiga running on this PC? Please help.

Thanks.

This is a duplicate.

I will very soon use mingw64 to build ekiga for windows, maybe this will fix this issue??

I have the same issue on Windows 7 as well. Where can I find the mingw64 build, and is there anything special I have to do to install it?

Thanks. I really appreciate the help and am looking forward to getting this working.

There is an execution error of ekiga built with mingw-w64. I wait for someone with knowledge on mingw-w64 to see where the problem is and how it could be solved. It seems that some DLLs used by ekiga are pre-compiled for a format different than mingw-w64. See my posts on http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_name=20110730221951.GB31199%40sk2.org&forum_name=mingw-w64-public .
