GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 65455
gtop crash on open
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Package: gtop Severity: major Version: 1.0.13 Synopsis: gtop crash on open Bugzilla-Product: gtop Bugzilla-Component: general Description: I was experiencing a moderate amount of system load after having had the "Pick a Font" dialog fail to respond for over 10 seconds (using filters and browsing many 2 byte fonts) . Then I decided to check what was chewing the cpu so I right-clicked the CPU load applet and chose "run gtop". The next thing to come up was a crash dialog. That's it! Then the font dialog came back, though the load continues as I write this. I assume you have the core file and whatever other system info gets submitted with this tool. I've never had a problem with gtop before and I've been using it since it first came out. Debugging Information: (no debugging symbols found)...(no debugging symbols found)... Someone needs to decide what to do with the gtop bugs, since it is no longer part of GNOME proper.
Gtop is being replaced by Procman for GNOME 2.0. (There is a GNOME 1.0 version available of Procman also.) Gtop is unfortunatly not being maintained anymore so unless patches are provided bugs will not be fixed in this module. I am closing it as wontfix. (People really should use Procman it is much nicer :)
