Description Spencer Janssen 2011-06-24 22:03:34 UTC
When syncing to a USB device, the template used for song filenames is "Track. Song Title.filetype". When there is no track number in the metadata, the filename is ". Song Title.filetype", creating a "hidden file" in the Unix sense.

The template should produce "Song Title.filetype" when there is no track number.

Thanks for the bug report. This issue will be fixed by Bug 489861 (see Bug 489861 Comment 22, #2 for more info and discussion).

The idea is, Banshee will support optional tokens in track naming, so {Track. }Song will only add a track number (and the dot that follows it) to the name if the song actually has a track number.

Once that's fixed, this issue with creating hidden files will disappear, so I'm marking this as a duplicate.

Michael, I don't think we're talking about the same bug.

Bug 489861 is for the files that get renamed locally (File System Organization), but this bug is about the files that get created in the Dap Device.

I've been marking bugs the same as this one as duplicates of Bug 489861 for quite a while now because Alexander originally marked Bug 608678 and Bug 613347 as duplicates (which are both the same as this one -- regarding DAP syncing).

However, if that's not correct, I have no problem reopening this one... I was just following Alexander's lead. :)

Ah, I see. Well then I guess Alex was also confused because I just found the real duplicate: bug 634096, which was actually already fixed 3 months ago... so, Spencer, can you tell us the version of Banshee you're using?

If it's Banshee 2.1.0 or later, can you reopen bug 634096?

Sorry I meant 7 months ago, not 3.
