Description Pedro Castro 2011-06-18 16:12:40 UTC
The file open dialogs currently have Local Only enabled, which inhibits showing the Places menu and remote connections. As reported in Launchpad:
«When I do a file operation (Open, etc.), I can see no bookmark entries ('Places') for remote locations (FTP, SMP, etc.) in the file dialog. Also, the (gvfs-) connected servers are also not shown on the left in this dialog.»

Patch for bug 652903

Just apply to Open Dialog, but since there's a Gconf option, can be applied to other dialogs as well.

Hey there Arx,

One question: did you test this with files in remote folders (FTP, for example)? I'm not sure how Gnome Subtitles will react as it only uses URIs for opening videos.

Cheers mate
