Description Hakon 2001-11-23 15:19:50 UTC
Many image formats support text information inside the image file,
allowing to save information of:

author/photographer
description of the image/what does it depict?
copyright
additional information

I think that it should be possible to author this information in GIMP, so
that it could come along while saving the picture.

See the attachment for how it looks in another program.
If it's possible I think that GIMP have some more specific entries.

There are already two enhancement proposals related to this problem:
- bug #61499 is about adding some user-friendly way to edit the image
parasites ("parasites" are the things that are used to store extra
  information about the images)
- bug #56443 proposes a way to define some standard parasites in order
to make sure that some (photographic) images manipulated by the Gimp
  keep most of their meta-information.

Thanks for the screenshot.
