GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 651780
Seahorse plugins are missing
Last modified: 2020-06-06 08:52:18 UTC
Since update to gnome 3, seahorse plugins doesn't appear anywhere in applications. Unable to (un)crypt in gedit or nautilus for example.
Which distribution is this about?
Archlinux (x86_64) Do you think it's related to distribution ? (so i'm not at the right place) Before there was the package seahorse-plugins but since gnome 3, it was removed from archlinux. And I can't find it anywhere in 3.x version (to try compiling by myself). Also, there isn't any tag about a 3.x version in git repository of seahorse. It seems there weren't updated.
So using the 2.x versions does not work? Did you ask the Archlinux folks?
Hi, I could install 2.x version. But only nautilus plugins works. It seems gedit isn't detected (the configure log gives GEDIT... no ) I asked to Archlinux guys, they said that they asked for an update upstream but the duty was passed from one dev to another and so they gave up. Thanks for attention.
Hi, We are a bit desperate to make seahorse-plugins work with Gnome3 (we need Gedit GPG integration). Any tip of how to compile/fix this issue? Regards, Ignacio
seahorse-nautilus 3.4 has been released with the Nautilus part of the former seahorse-plugins.
Did anyone come up with a solution for this yet? seahorse-nautilus (or seahorse-tool) is pretty much unusable for me as it's not possible to use ascii-armor. (which is needed if you want to copy/paste to webmail).
seahorse-plugins is not under active development anymore: https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/Infrastructure/issues/257 It had its last code changes many years ago: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/seahorse-plugins/-/commits/master Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is deprecated) if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again.
