Description jdorje 2001-11-23 08:02:45 UTC
Package: galeon
Severity: normal
Version: 0.12.4
Synopsis: galeon-bin crashes with messed up mozilla installation
Bugzilla-Product: galeon
Bugzilla-Component: Mozilla interaction

Description:
I just installed Red Hat 7.2 on my system, followed by Ximian. Up
updated both using red-carpet.

Shortly later, I chose to "verify installed packages" using red-carpet.
This recommended the uninstallation of the mozilla package. Not knowing
what else to do, I went ahead with it.

Now mozilla won't run at all ("Mozilla has not been installed
correctly."). But, when I run galeon, it doesn't work either: "**
CRITICAL **: file mozilla.cpp: line 91 (gboolean mozilla_load_prefs ()):
assertion `prefService != nsnull' failed" and it segfaults.

Since this is probably the result of a bad installation, I'm not sure
what can be done about it. It's most likely a problem with the mozilla
installation, but there could be other problems because of package
conflicts.

you ned to reinstall/remove old cruft/ mozilla and also make sure you
use the right MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME pointing at the right/working mozilla
installation
