Description ali 2011-05-29 07:31:00 UTC
The program should display the page number (as determined by the current order of the pages) of each page. One possibility is a square in the upper right corner of each page, containing the page number.

If a user moves the pages around, the numbers should remain fixed where they are, even if the page at that spot changes. That is, the numbers should not be linked to the pages in any way. Those number should just indicate the number of the placeholder containing that page.

Currently, there are tool tips providing that functionality. Nevertheless, it is highly inconvenient to obtain the page number from the tool tips, especially when a document contains several hundred pages.

Yes, this would be very useful for documents with large number of files and would allow a quick navigation to go / extract / move the required page.

pdfmod is not under active development anymore and had its last code changes
in 2011. Its codebase has been archived:

Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect
reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project
to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is deprecated) if anyone takes the
responsibility for active development again.
