I think that when painting, the brush outline should be visible, making it 
much easier to draw precise marks.
Maybe it should be a preferences option. But then it should be enabled by 
default.

This has already been suggested in bug #32498.  I agree that it would
be a useful feature, especially when you want to apply your brush
strokes very precisely.
