The disk size there should use the decimal prefix, i.e. it should show 100GB for a 100GB disk, like Disk Utility does; see attached screenshots.

Hmm. 83.4GB in the screenshot is the amount of space left, not the size of the disk. As per http://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-control-center/tree/panels/info/cc-info-panel.c#n629
