Description Victor Vargas 2011-05-26 20:41:26 UTC
This report was originally filled at:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/banshee/+bug/786527

When trying to start banshee, the application crashes nearly immediately: the application window opens, but after less then a second it disappears again. Output to stdout and stderr seems to indicate that it (or some library) suffers a segmentation fault. I'll append the output to this bug report.
I looked through the already filed "crashes on startup" reports, but as far as I can see mine is different from the others.

All the best,
Jochen

Per originall reporter request this report can be closed, Thank you.

Hi,

I've managed to make the crash go away by doing the following:
1) I've uninstalled all packages related to Ubuntu One
2) I've deleted every file/directory in my home directory which had a name matching "*[bB]anshee*"
3) I've rebooted to get rid of some ubuntu one related processes which didn't disappear during package removal
After this, banshee starts up with no problem.

I did steps 1 and 2 together, so no way to tell which one was the relevant one.

Conclusion: as far as I am concerned, this bug can be closed.
