GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 650831
Remove libmusicbrainz option
Last modified: 2011-05-25 14:42:28 UTC
Created attachment 188355 [details] output from MUSICBRAINZ_DEBUG Maybe I'm missing something obvious (I hope), but ... As of a few days ago, http://mm.musicbrainz.org:80/cgi-bin/mq_2_1.pl became 404 not found. As a result, sound-juicer can't find any track data (for me). http://musicbrainz.org/cgi-bin/mq_2_1.pl (no "mm." in the host) is also 404. I got that url from the MUSICBRAINZ_DEBUG=1 output (attached). I looked in the source of the latest sound-juicer release (2.28.1) and of the latest libmusicbrainz2 release (2.1.5) for alternatives, but nothing came out at me. I would have looked at the sources in svn but couldn't find them :(. I couldn't find any recent announcement on the musicbrainz web site about this, although there was a warning about it ceasing to exist in a blog post in May 2009 (http://blog.musicbrainz.org/?p=392). libmusicbrainz3 uses an entirely different scheme (XML instead of RDF), so it's not like it can just be dropped in. Help? Thanks, Karl (karl@freefriends.org)
Compile your sound-juicer against libmusicbrainz3 (support was added in 2.26), and not libmusicbrainz 2.x.
Already done. commit edd6235f1ceb11d0d96e523af73981c74e2a6bf1 Author: Bastien Nocera <hadess@hadess.net> Date: Fri May 14 16:30:33 2010 +0100 Remove support for obsolete libmusicbrainz2
