Description Gerd Kohlberger 2011-05-20 09:23:59 UTC
It seems the migration to GTK+ 3 broke dwell-clicks in gesture mode.

The cursor doesn't change to indicate the start of a gesture and launching mousetweaks with '-m gesture' sometimes causes an X error:

(mousetweaks:3709): Gdk-WARNING **: The program 'mousetweaks' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'XI_BadDevice (invalid Device parameter)'.

On Kubutnu 11.4 with KDE 4.6 and Mousetweaks 3.0.0 I can confirm that for the regular moue pointer the cursor does not change to indicate the start of a gesture. However, if the cursor is in a text area which produces the "I" cursor, then the start of a gesture is in fact indicated by the mouse pointer transforming into the "+" pointer. I did not test in Gnome.

Thanks.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new enhancement request ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mousetweaks/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
