GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 650527
Visio export (vdx export) not formatting text labels correctly
Last modified: 2014-08-29 17:03:52 UTC
Created attachment 188076 [details] Zip file containing original DIA project file, a bad Visio export file and a good PDF export file Dia 97.1's Visio export (vdx export) is not formatting text labels correctly. When I export, all my text labels are moved far to the right of their original location. For example, text that is centered in a box may be exported in Visio format as beginning on the far right side of a box. Furthermore, text in the labels is not moved consistently: different lines are shifted by different amounts, and the amount doesn't seem tied to the length of the text in the line or anything else predictable. This behavior is not present in the PDF export, which is the other export facility I'd like to use a lot.

I've tried to export some graphs I made with dia 0.97.1 as Visio XML If I try to read them from Visio 2010/Vista and Omnigraphl 5.2.3/OSX I see what is described up here and more. _ The text are outside the boxes, too much on the right. _ Each UML "activity" is translated into a bold rounded rectangle (which seems right) but the translator also adds a thin rectangle and an horizontal line. You will find attached an example with the graph made on dig then how Omnigraphl renders it (which looks very much like Vision 2010 renders it)

Text alignment now works: http://git.gnome.org/browse/dia/commit/?id=24d78cf79f77d472f6f97fae36e1cf468ad086fa Also the thin rectangle is gone: http://git.gnome.org/browse/dia/commit/?id=8f786713ae6367bce938d79a00dadfea346205db
