Description Cosimo Cecchi 2011-05-18 04:00:36 UTC
- select a folder in your home directory
- enter the folder
- press Alt+Up
- note that the folder where we come from is remembered (selected), so if you press Alt+Down you will get back to it
- press Alt+Up again (this will move you to /home)
- the selection is forgotten, so pressing Alt+Down again has no effect

Is this with 3.0? I changed the select-from-folder in master.

Anyway, the go-up code looks for the locaction in the history and takes a different codepath if it is, thats probably where this stems from.

Comment 3 André Klapper 2021-06-18 15:53:55 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version of Files (nautilus), then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
