Description Eugene 2011-05-15 16:22:04 UTC
Summary says pretty much of it.

To reproduce, switch to compact mode and make the window more narrow than the first (maybe the sole) column. Then press Up and Down keys several times to move selection and notice the flickering.

Probably it is GTK3's bug, I have no idea.

nautilus 3.0.1.1 (ArchLinux distribution)

Now I realized that this bug would never occur if nautilus shortened long file names (as it did when it was 2.x.x, if I remember correctly)
