GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 650155
Evolution shuts down
Last modified: 2011-05-20 18:04:11 UTC
This is an intermittent problem. After reading a message, I click the "X" to close it and the message and Evolution shutclose. When I restart Evolution, the message just read still shows as unread. I have also had the shut down occur after sending a message. I tried minimizing the message and moving it to the center of the screen (away from the "X" to close Evolution) and the mail system still shuts down. This issue didn't occur for the 1st few months that I used Evolution so I think the problem might somehow be related to some updates that I put on UBUNTU. I love the program but this problem makes it almost unusable. If I have 10 messages to read, I may need to restart Evolution 3 or 4 times.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Without a stack trace from the crash it's very hard to determine what caused it. Can you get us a stack trace? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so. Thanks in advance! Also, please provide version information.
I installed Bug Buddy. Evolution crashed and I received a message saying that Bug Buddy was unable to collect enough information to be useful to the developer. I installed libfolks.dbg and evolution-mapi.dbg. And received the same message. Evolution-data-server.dbg is already installed. What else should I install? I am running UBUNTU 10.10.
Don't know which exact packages are missing... You could "force" getting a stacktrace by using gdb, see the Details section in the link I gave in comment 2...
What is the evolution version ? see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces/Details#gdb-not-yet-running for details about how to collect traces with gdb.
