.xsession-errors after launching terminal

I have installed Gnome 3 on ubuntu 11.04 and I am so far very happy
about it.

I however noticed that when I launch a gnome-terminal, it takes 6
to 7 seconds before it is ready to use and in the meantime it freezes the whole
user interface.

For such a small application, it seems a bit long (especially because I don't have the same behaviour with other applications, including larger ones such as evolution).

Please find attached my .xsession-errors file that was created just after a new session was started and a gnome-terminal launched.

`menu_proxy_module_load': gnome-terminal: undefined symbol: menu_proxy_module_load

It appears you have the ubuntu global menu module installed. Remove it, and try again.

Do you know how to do that?
Comment 3 Christian Persch 2011-05-11 12:47:07 UTC
No idea, sorry. Try filing this on launchpad.

I went to synaptic and removed firefox-globalmenu, thunderbird-globalmenu, appmenu-gtk and indicator-appmenu.

It seems to have solved the problem, gnome-terminal launches very quickly now.
Thanks
