On my Windows desktop,  I have links to a couple of clip-art folders.  If I click "File → Open...", click on the "Desktop" folder in the left part of that dialog, and change to "All Files" view, I can see the ".lnk" files;  but I get the following error-message:

Opening 'C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\RSA4WS clipart.lnk' failed:

Unknown file type



Double-clicking on a ".lnk" file that points to a directory should browse to that directory;  double-clicking on a ".lnk" file that points to an image-file shoudl open the image.
