Description gcjohns 2011-05-05 13:03:13 UTC
Version: 2.30.1

What were you doing when the application crashed?
I was rebooting....

I was restoring a filesystem using:

cat /backup/zfsstoragefile | zfs receive -Fduv mypool

The restore was delayed. Zpool status showed that the deviced (a 30G usb thumbdrive) was reporting many errors. Believe the thumbdrive failed permanently.

I was unable to stop the restore.
Ctrl-C failed.
ps -fel | grep cat followed by kill -9 failed.
ps -fel | grep zfs followed by kill -9 (pid of zfs receive) failed.
ps -fel | grep mypool followed by kill -9 (pid of zpool-mypool) failed.
zpool destroy mypool resulted in zpool hanging.

So I shutdown the system using System->Shut Down in GNOME.

Shutdown hung. So, I hard dropped the system using power-off.

Any more details needed?
