Description Chris Heywood 2001-11-19 08:23:16 UTC
in the icon view when renaming a file, once the file has been renamed it's
no longer focused.

if you are going through and renaming a number of files sequentially with
keys and you were say half way through, this means you have to key down
through the list again.

this in combination with bug #62331 would allow this kind of behavior far
easier.

reproduce:
- use icon view
- navigate with keys to a file in the middle of the view
- hit F2 to rename the file
- rename the file, hit return
- the focus has now been removed from the file

seen with nautilus CVS (gnome 1 branch)

This seems like a good idea.

Adding usability keyword.
Comment 4 Mark Finlay 2003-02-03 22:41:59 UTC
I just tried this with 2.2 and when i finished renaming a file
it has "grey focus" as upposed to "blue focus". So to move on
to the next file i have to press the arrow key twice.

According to the GNOME Bugsquad Steps of Triaging, the severity of
this bug should probably be raised to `minor' or `normal' instead of
just `enhancement', because it is not about a new feature and
something is not working as expected.

I have noticed that, when closing the side pane by clicking on the
close button, the same thing happens (gray focus instead of blue focus).

Raising severity to minor and adding GNOMEVER2.4, GNOMEVER2.5 keywords.

chris have you sent your patch to nautilus-list@gnome.org. Patches in
bugzilla tend to slip through the cracks and get missed.
