GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 648673
Zip files with files with non-ACSII characters cause an error when decompressing
Last modified: 2020-11-11 19:11:52 UTC
If you've a zip file containing files with non-ACSII characters can't be decompressed, but if you try to decompress from command line using 'unzip' it decompress without problem. To reproduce the bug, try this from treminal: $touch tílde $zip tílde.zip tílde $file-roller tílde.zip If you don't select the file and click extract then file-roller decompress the file without problem, the problem happens when select file, then file-roller don't decompress it.

I can confirm this bug too Addingly, the bug only happens if you select the problematic file from the filenames treeview and then you try to extract it. I'm using file-roller version 3.0.0
bugzilla.gnome.org is being replaced by gitlab.gnome.org. We are closing all old bug reports and feature requests in GNOME Bugzilla which have not seen updates for a long time. If you still use file-roller and if you still see this bug / want this feature in a currently supported version of GNOME (currently that would be 3.38), then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/file-roller/-/issues/ Thank you for creating this report and we are sorry it could not be implemented (volunteer workforce and time is limited).
