GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 648424
Edit Bill screen shows wrong Default Chargeback Project Job
Last modified: 2018-06-29 22:57:08 UTC
There are 2 types of jobs, Customer jobs and Vendor jobs. These seem to get mixed up with bills. If I create a bill from some supplier and select a default chargeback customer and a default chargeback customer job, the default chargeback customer job shown in the Edit Bill screen is the bill's vendor job instead of the customer job. To reproduce, create a customer, a vendor, a customer job and a vendor job. Create a bill selecting this vendor, vendor job, and, as Default Chargeback Project, the customer and customer job. Select OK, and notice that the Job shown in the Default Chargeback Project section is the vendor job selected. This vendor job is therefore shown twice in the screen, while the real customer job is not shown at all. Thanks to warlord and blathijs for helping me to understand chargeback.
I found that after closing the file (GnuCash) and reopening, the bill's jobs don't show anymore, that is, instead of mistakenly showing the same job, the bill shows as if no job was assigned. The Edit button does not work. I remember experiencing that before. However, if I search for the bill and open it, then the jobs show as before (still incorrectly). This also makes the jobs re-appear in another test bill with the same problem.
