Screenshot of described behaviour.

Drag and drop icons across desktop produces graphical glitch imputable to the compositing manager. Moreover, glitches still remain after dropping, untill interested areas are redrawed.

Please, see attached screenshot.

This happens only with Metacity compositing enabled.

Disable shadows for non-windows

This patch solves the problem by disabling shadows on drag and drop elements, menus and tooltips. These elements had visual glitches when displaying shadows. Mutter don't use shadows also on these elements.

It has been fixed in metacity 3.12.0.
