GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 648337
Default selection of confirmation dialog after file removal command should default to YES if the action sends the file to trash (recycle bin)
Last modified: 2020-03-17 09:28:01 UTC
If you select a track,right-click and select "Delete from Drive" a dialog pops up asking if you're sure. The current default selection is on "Cancel", though "OK" would be better. When enabling deletion (no trashing) of files, the Gnome desktop's default selection is on "OK".
This smells like a WONTFIX. I think it's better to default to safety.
I'm inclined to agree with Andrés.
From the GNOME Hig[1]: "Do not make a button the default if its action is irreversible..." Since Banshee's current behavior for deleting is to remove the track permanently, I would say this is either a WONTFIX or blocked by Bug 545937. That is a good compromise, Michael.
Banshee is not under active development anymore and had its last code changes more than three years ago. Its codebase has been archived. Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is being shut down) if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again. See https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/Infrastructure/issues/264 for more info.
