GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 647861
Italic text cuts off in text box
Last modified: 2011-04-16 08:36:06 UTC
I tried searching on line to see if I could find out if there was a work around in Gimp to fix italic text from being cut off in the text box, but couldn't find out anything. I can only gather it could be a bug. I use Ubuntu 10.10 right now. I'm also using the newest version of Gimp (2.6.10). I came across a problem with the text tool box. When you click the text box and put text in, it's fine. When I make it italic it's fine. But when I go to Justify the text it's not fine. It doesn't matter what italic font you use, the text on the right side of the box gets cut off. There's no extra space to let the text slant, so the end letters in the text box get cut off (e.g. l,r,etc.). This problem, doesn't seem to affect the regular text being Justified, only anything italicized. I even tried right-clicking on the on the (text) layer that's holding the text, and going down the menu and selecting "Layer Boundary Size", but then it gives me a pop up warning that it can't edit my text anymore due to the text being used by another tool. =( I figured since the "Layer Boundary Size" gives more box space on the right of the text would work, but the text still stays cut off. Sorry so long, I don't normally like asking for help, but this has been my last resort to figuring out what I'm doing wrong. Any help is appreciated. Thank You, Sabrina
