Description bosccowitch 2011-04-14 19:13:57 UTC
Hi,

I wanted to do some gnome3 developing and cant find my most used function in Codeblocks the Find in whole Project search, which quite helpsme a lot to get an overview where what is in totally unknown code/project. (especially in the gnome-shell c / js code mix where im still somewhat lost)

most of the time i create my own codeblocks project wich is a hassle.
Also phising for the shell grep construct is not as nice as you can klick in a list and jump right to the file and line with a result.

If there is already such a function you should also place it under Edit-> Search menu as i cant find it.

hmm i tried the grep tool extension, but its not the same as an internal search as it can

1. crash anjunta if there are a lot of results and simply adds them all into the result list (happened for example for search like "app" in gnome-shell ;)

2. you cant reach the results by double clicking the results line you have to fish out the file in the brwoser manually and search agian in the file or scroll a lot

We know that this is a regression for 3.0 compared to the 2.x releases.

Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find.
