Steps to reproduce:
1. get a keyboard with media volume keys or define equivalent custom keyboard shortcuts
2. start a movie player and play a video with sound
3. switch to Activities view (ALT-F1 / Windows key)
4. press volume up/down keys
5. volume won't change
