GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 647353
shell effects slow down when tray is used
Last modified: 2011-04-10 12:55:12 UTC
The gnome-shell effects work fine until an application places a tray icon into the tray bar. Testet with banshee (2.0), empathy (3.0.0) and pidgin (2.7.11). As soon as a tray icon is in there, the zoom effects are getting slow (e.g. clicking a window tile in the shell window overview) and the fade-in/fade-out of the tray bar itself gets slow too. The desktop change animation (STRG-ALT-UP/DOWN) is not affected and is still smooth. When all the tray applications are closed, the animations are perfectly smooth again like at the startup of the system. -------------- gpu: GeForce 8800 GTS/PCI/SSE2 with nvidia driver 270.30 cpu: Core 2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66GHz X.Org X Server 1.10.0.901 (1.10.1 RC 1)
