Description david 2011-04-08 23:00:33 UTC
If you use Point-to-Focus (a.k.a. "Select windows when the mouse moves over them" in the Window Preferences panel), then when you alt+tab between windows on the same workspace that are non-overlapping Gnome Shell will try to switch focus, but won't move the mouse. As soon as it has switched, it will immediately be switched back because your mouse is still in the old window.

This makes it impossible to do a quick alt-tab, type type, alt-tab, type type; you have to reach for the mouse.
