Description bram 2011-04-07 08:28:03 UTC
The Empathy contact list displays a nice phone icon whenever a contact is connected from a phone/mobile device; it would be nice (for those of us not having the contact list open at all times) to also show this information in the chat window.

It should at least be possible to show this in the contact's tooltip, although a more permanently visible way / integrating this with other status info such as availability (in a non-intruding fashion, of course) would be preferable.

We are currently implementing SMS support (bug #644086) so we should be very carreful to not confuse users. We have 2 different concepts here:
- This contact is connected using a phone/mobile device
- This chat window is used to send SMS.
