after updating metacity to 2.34 this things happen:

1) gdm greeter starts slowly and appears after more than 10 seconds

notice the timeout

2) after the timeout the greeter appears and i can select my username and type the password. After that the fail screen appear

i guess is because after metacity timeout in gdm, it started in his own session.

Last know version on my system is metacity 2.30.3 with only RestartStyleHint patch.

I started to cherry pick from git changes related to gnome 3, two commits for schemas and with those, gdm greeter refused to work having logs related to parsing

Applying http://git.gnome.org/browse/metacity/commit/?id=e3f1212b6d64a887e17974ebffba8f021e4a9c2f to fix the parsing bug and from know own i have the exact problem as with 2.34.

metacity was compiled without session management support (libsm was missing)
