Description Cosimo Cecchi 2011-03-22 16:24:31 UTC
When the "Checking for new mail..." bars are added to the statusbar, it changes in size, resizing what's above it by a few pixels. The effect is a "jumping" interface.
Evolution should probably make sure the bottom bar never requests a height that is smaller than the "Checking for new mail..." bars, or maybe tweak the bar padding?
Comment 1 Matthew Barnes 2011-03-22 17:18:23 UTC
We use a fudge factor in the bar padding which worked fine until Adwaita arrived. I think what I'll do instead is have it track the maximum requested height and make that the minimum height in future resizes. That way it should only resize itself once at startup when the first activity begins.

Fixed for 3.1.1 in:
http://git.gnome.org/browse/evolution/commit/?id=8937cee7f4f4a5f573c47e3528d796f51a34c084

I'll try to remember to backport this after the code freeze.
