Because most IRC networks use nickserv, it's important to have /msg enabled so that peopl can identify to their nicknames.

Please re-enable /msg and /query.

    This is a manual backport from master.


This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
