GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 644918
gnome-keyring-daemon should be autostarted in KDE

I only wonder why autostarting gnome-keyring-daemon from d-bus event was unsuccessful (perhaps it's a different issue)...
In my opinion, we shouldn't autostart gnome-keyring-daemon on login on KDE. It should only be started once an application specifically wants gnome-keyring's services. That's why we have it setup to be activated by dbus. If you find a bug in that part, let me know. If I'm not understanding your use case or situation correctly, feel free to reopen this bug.
Fwiw, testing this on a current (F15-beta-ish) box, running a sample gnome-keyrind-using application like abrt-gui on kde, I get an error dialog: "Cannot connect to Gnome keyring deamon"
Rex, if gnome-keyring correctly installed, and dbus activation is running (which is the default for any linux setup i know about), then you wouldn't get this message. If not, could you chat me on #keyring at gimp.net and I can try and we can try and get to the bottom of this.
