The panel app consistently crashes (segfault) at startup.  I've reinstalled RH and the error persists.  My home directory is NFS mounted.  I deleted any file or directory (include dot-files) that was vaguely related to X or GNOME from my homedir, but that didn't help either.
I've installed another 7.2 machine and did not have this problem.

Happens whenever I start X-windows.

Please try the latest (1.4.x) version of gnome-core and gnome-libs
from http://download.gnome.org/ Contact me if you need RPMS.
