As reported by Quinn Dombrowski in the frogr-list [1]:

"I like to keep my photos in order by date, but sometimes I end up dropping things into the uploader out-of-order. Having a way to automatically arrange them by date (maybe in the preferences?) would be great."

This problem has been fixed in the development version, although can't mention a single commit for that since it was fixed through a set of commits instead.

The fix will be available in the next major software release.
