GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 644582
EOG doesn't display inkscape .svg w/ flowed text properly
Last modified: 2011-03-13 11:44:25 UTC
Created attachment 183231 [details] Problematic inkscape svg Both in previews in nautilus (which comes from eog, I think?) and in EOG itself, SVGs that have multiple lines of text in one 'box' show up as a solid box where you would expect to see text. According to a comment on the launchpad bug, "I have this problem with SVGs produced by Inkscape. But really it's Inkscape's "fault", not EOG's. See this: http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/FAQ#What_about_flowed_text.3F Still it would be nice if EOG would support it..." So, this bug is somewhat a bug and somewhat a request to support it. I'm attaching a svg from inkscape which causes this problem. (This bug was first reported at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/eog/+bug/385687 )
eog's SVG rendering is handled by librsvg (as is the preview shown in nautilus). So I'm reassigning this, but considering that it is inkscape producing non-standard files here, I have my doubts that this will be high priority (if any).
librsvg actually already has a bug open for this. Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 634514 ***
