Description Pacho Ramos 2011-03-05 14:59:21 UTC
Hello

Looks like nautilus doesn't draw desktop icons on Gnome3, that looks reasonable to me on a system running gnome-shell (as it "replaces" this feature), but this is not desirable on fallback mode as gnome-panel+metacity doesn't fit these needs.

Would be possible to set nautilus to draw desktop icons only when fallback mode is used? Thanks a lot

We want the fallback mode to be as similar to regular gnome3 as we can make it.
Making nautilus run in the one but not the other would contradict that.

But not running it on fallback mode will be a major regression over Gnome2 for people not having proper 3D support

Please reconsider -> fallback mode is that, a fallback for people not being able to run gnome-shell and, then, it must still provide a working desktop, not some kind of hardly usable desktop
