Hi, currently Vala files are not highlighted in git, I presume it's because highlight[1] version is old, according to this page[2] vala highlight support was introduced in highlight 2.6-14 (dated 21-October-2008). It would be cool to update and support Vala language..

If you file a bug with EPEL5 and they upgrade highlight, we'll have it automatically. For maintenance purposes, not willing to make a local package for this.

It seems upstream vala package has been updated[1] in EPEL5 so please take a look at it when you have the time..
