Description Luca Ottaviano 2011-02-23 08:32:03 UTC
This is an upstream report for the bug in launchpad:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/modemmanager/+bug/637948

Bug description: if I attach the dongle with VID/PID 12d1:1001, the system correctly recognises the device as a Huawei 3G modem, ie. it shows up in the output of lsusb.
Network manager applet also recognises the device and shows the entry for the connection. When I click to connect, the connection is not established and I get the following errors in syslog:

kernel: [ 932.820770] option: option_instat_callback: error -71
kernel: [ 933.008135] option: option_instat_callback: error -108

See attached syslog for full logs.

Please let me know if you need further details.

I don't have the machine right now, but from this page:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/natty/network-manager-gnome

the bug affects NM version 0.8.3+git.20110203t003354.9bf0b98.
Comment 3 Luca Ottaviano 2011-03-15 21:25:19 UTC
Upgraded today to Natty alpha 3 and the problem is fixed.
Closing.
