Description chrisfurlough 2011-02-22 02:40:21 UTC
On my server, the alt.binaries.nl newsgroup has almost a BILLION (987 Million to be exact), messages. If you try to download all of these, you'll get over 50 million, but less than 60 million when you get the C++ exception dialog box.

8 gig of RAM, quad core, PLENTY of HDD space.

Tried several times, and if I could get 0.134 to compile on my Linux box, I'd test it there as well.

I do run 0.134 on x64 OpenSUSE 11.4. Pan does not crash, but rather everything slows down very much.
It just browses and read every header (i assume) and if the size gets over a certain threshold it will just take a long long time.
Not sure if that can be finetuned.
I have 4GB of ram, but since it will most likely put on the harddrive not sure if that matters really. I have newsgroups that have more than 6 billion headers. :)
