(Just for reference, see bug 598837. Turns out that this is caused by a non-upstreamed, braindead debian patch to their sm.pc file.)

You can keep repeating that as long as you want, but it won't make these patches wrong. Plus the sm.pc file has been fixed upstream now too (though that's orthogonal, these patches are correct with or without the sm.pc change):
