GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 642439
Need context for "Fallback" strings
Last modified: 2011-02-25 18:41:31 UTC
There are two strings in gnome-control.center.po I'm not sure how to translate them: #: ../panels/info/cc-info-panel.c:782 #| msgid "Callback" msgid "Fallback" #: ../panels/info/info.ui.h:1 msgid "Always use fallback:" Are this strings about an I/O sound device? Many thanks
Fallback mode: In this case, if the hardware is not able to run GNOME 3 and gnome-shell, the fallback mode will be the classical gnome-panel known from GNOME 2. Does that make it clearer?
Would be possible to change this strings? I suggest: "Fallback mode" "Always use fallback mode" Maybe this would help to clarify that there is a "normal mode" and a "fallback mode" Thanks!

Added translator comments for the "Standard" and "Fallback" strings. Please reopen if those aren't good enough.
Could you please attach a screenshot where these strings are used? We are still not sure how to translate them :(
Created attachment 181215 [details] screenshot See also the mockups at: http://live.gnome.org/Design/SystemSettings/SystemInformation
Marking this as fixed, you hopefully managed to translate them.
